B92 press releaseRadio B92 still topping ratingsThe latest ratings figures from Strategic Marketing show that Radio B92 is still the highest rating radio station in Belgrade and the second highest in Serbia. BELGRADE, July 6, 2004 According to research conducted by Strategic Marketing in May this year, Radio B92 has the second highest rating across the whole territory of Serbia, immediately behind the state-operated Radio Belgrade. In the crucial morning hours, B92’s figures lead those of the state broadcaster. Radio B92’s success is all the more remarkable given that its coverage is only fifty per cent of the population, while Radio Belgrade reaches the entire territory. In Belgrade, B92 is still the number one commercial station. The rating results show a striking rise for all segments of Radio B92’s current affairs programming since the last research in October 2003. The highest rating news programs (Morning News and Index Finger) still top audience popularity (an average of about 80,000 listeners daily in Belgrade and more than 110,000 throughout Serbia), with a considerable rise in the ratings of entertainment programs such as the breakfast program Rise and Shine (weekdays from 7.00 to 9.00 a.m.). Srdjan Andjelic’s Propeller (Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 11.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m.) and Family Weekend Magazine Only on Thursdays with Igor Brakus (Tuesday 11.00 a.m. to 14.00 p.m.), together with the weekend programs Zagrej Stolicu (Saturday, 10.00 a.m. to noon) and Pensioner’s Corner (Sunday 10.00 a.m. to noon). Compared to the October results, Radio B92’s Belgrade rating has increased threefold in the morning and doubled in the afternoon hours. During the weekend, Radio B92 has the absolute lead in Belgrade until the later afternoon hours, beating off the strongest competitors such as Radio S, Radio Jat, Radio Belgrade One, and Studio B. The other great success for Radio B92 in these ratings is at the regional level, in Vojvodina, where it has become one of the most popular stations for the first time since beginning broadcasting on the 105.0 MHz frequency. With respect to the key target audience for all commercial radio stations, men and women between the ages of 25 and 45, Radio B92 is showing strong opposition to the leading Belgrade stations, Radio S and Jat, with a convincing lead in morning programs. source: B92
